Psychiatrist

The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric care within an inpatient forensic behavioral health setting while serving as a clinical leader on a multidisciplinary treatment team. The physician will manage an average caseload of approximately 24 patients and participate in assessment, treatment, recovery planning, court-related responsibilities, and quality improvement activities.

• Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team in the delivery of psychiatric care.
• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, medication management, and ongoing treatment.
• Develop and oversee individualized psychiatric treatment and recovery plans.
• Complete required physician court documentation and provide associated testimony as needed.
• Participate in medical staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and quarterly quality-focused chart reviews.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, medical providers, psychologists, and other clinical professionals.

• MD or DO with successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency.
• Current unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Current DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Minimum of four years of experience working as a Psychiatrist.
• Minimum of four years of experience working with individuals with psychiatric disorders.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Previous inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Experience working within a forensic psychiatric or similarly complex behavioral health environment.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Familiarity with court-related psychiatric documentation and testimony.

• Consistent Monday-Friday schedule.
• No after-hours or weekend call.
• 6-month initial assignment with the opportunity to extend.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Contract: 6 months with option to extend
• Call: No after-hours or weekend call
• Caseload: Approximately 24 patients
• Admissions/Discharges: Average of 1-2 per month
• Setting: Inpatient forensic psychiatric hospital
• Team: Multidisciplinary treatment team with opportunities to collaborate with staff nurse practitioners
• On-Site Requirement: On-campus presence preferred; minimum on-site requirement pending final leadership approval
• Start: Immediate need; actual start date is dependent upon completion of required credentialing and clearance
